This Thai island makes those luxury resorts we all dream about an affordable (and more fun) reality!
The stunning island resort of Koh Mook Sivalai Resort and Spa looks like one of those luxurious places you dream about (especially in January), but then either realise you'll never be able to afford to go (as they usually cost a fortune per night), or you decide that the fact that it is so idyllic and remote with not much else around, might make it a little boring after a while.
The fantastic news about this island though is that there are two unique things that make it both more affordable and more fun!
The first is that it is still relatively unknown, even to the masses of people that travel to Thailand's more well known islands further north, such as Koh Lanta and Koh Phi Phi. And that means it is still quite reasonably priced to stay here, even in gorgeous villas on the beach in this unique setting with panoramic sea views.
The second is that the island's location in Thailand's South Andaman Sea is also surrounded by other great islands that you can visit too, ranging from the laid back to the more lively. This can be either as day trips from Koh Mook, or as part of a trip combining different islands. So you can experience a slice of idyllic paradise without worrying about getting bored!

There are only a handful of hotels on the island, and the Koh Mook Sivalai Resort and Spa has definitely beat the rest to secure the best location, which rivals that of some of the most exclusive hotels in the world. From the resort's private setting on a peninsula stretching out from the mainland into the sea, you will struggle to find anywhere with more beautiful sea views from as many different parts of a hotel. This includes sea views from all of the beachfront villas, even those set back in the second row.
