The only group tour company with UK meet ups with your group and leader before the trip!
Did you know that on our group tours for women we always arrange a meet up in the UK before we travel, just for the women going on individual tours to get to know each other and your group leader? And that your group leader will be the woman behind Travel Queen who has designed all of our tours from scratch? (Me!)
This lovely lot pictured above were the first group to go on our Thailand Adventure trip for women, and this was our pre-trip meal at Thai restaurant Thaikhun in Manchester, hosted by Travel Queen Owner, Mel (that's me!)
I organise these events about a month before every trip and they're great for getting to know each other, getting rid of any nervousness if you've never booked onto a trip on your own before (like most women that join us), and of course for getting excited with your new tour group friends! You can also grill me about any last minute questions you might have that you haven't already asked me or seen the answer to in our private Facebook group for the trip too.
Will the meet ups always be held in Manchester?
As I live in Manchester and have held lots of local events to promote Travel Queen nearby, I've met lots of women from Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Yorkshire that have gone on to book onto our group tours. That means that so far, lots of our pre-trip meet ups have been held in Manchester, as this was the most central location that suited most members of the group.
But we have also had women from Lancashire, Staffordshire, the South East and Northern Ireland travel to make these meet up events because they were so keen to meet the other women going on the tour.
As word spreads about Travel Queen and more women from all over the place join our tours, I'll arrange pre-trip meet ups in the most central UK location for the majority of the group on each tour to travel to. Of course, these pre-trip meet ups aren't compulsory and if you can't make it that's fine too - we'll have plenty of time to get to know each other on the trip itself!
Why is Travel Queen the only group tour company with UK meet ups before trips?
I haven't found any other group tour company that holds these type of pre-trip meet up events in the UK before you travel, and they have been really popular with the women that have joined our trips. I guess the main reason for that is that Travel Queen is the UK's only group tour operator dedicated to women, who tend to be more keen to meet up, and that also has an active personal presence here in the UK at face-to-face events, rather than just being a purely online business.
There are some other companies out there that offer women only trips, but they tend to be based in America or Australia, or are very large, international companies that sell hundreds of different types of mixed group tours all over the world for all ages from 18 upwards, and some women only trips too. They are just too big to offer individual meet ups before each trip and people also book on from all over the world, so it just wouldn't be practical.
A more personal experience with Travel Queen, where you also get to meet your group leader before you go (which is me!)
Another unique thing for Travel Queen that no other group tour company offers, is the opportunity to meet your group leader for the tour before you go. As well as meeting the other women in your tour group, meeting, or at least speaking with your group leader before you go is an important part of your whole experience too. On our current Thailand Adventure and Croatia Adventure tours, we move around between lots of exciting destinations and have a lot of activities packed in, so its important that you feel comfortable with this person who will be responsible for taking care of everything throughout the trip.
It is also the group leader's job to provide useful and interesting information about the places you visit, answer any questions you might have, deal with any issues that might pop up, provide important tips about local cultures, recommend the best local bars and restaurants, and ultimately make sure you have an amazing time!
At the moment, I am the group leader on all of our tours, which I have personally designed from scratch to create a truly unique 'adventure with style' that is unlike any other group tour out there.
