TOUR OVERVIEW
Hey, I'm Mel, the owner of Travel Queen! This is our very special group tour for women in their mid 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s, and the first that I ever created, in my favourite place in the world, Thailand!
That's me up there with all the lovely Thai people planning this adventure! As I do with all Travel Queen tours, I've personally designed every last detail of our itinerary after spending loads of time researching and trying everything out myself first, working with local companies to find the best places to visit, accommodation to stay in and things to do!
I've sussed out all the islands and the hidden gems other group tour companies don't travel to, trekked, swam, snorkelled and explored this stunning country, dined like a queen for incredible value, tracked down the best bars and got to know lots of friendly Thai people.
I've combined all of this experience, knowledge and passion for Thailand to carefully create this very special tour, which I personally lead, and that I can promise you is unlike anything else out there!

OUR ITINERARY
DAY 1 - CHILL OUT & COCKTAILS IN KHAO LAK!
On arrival at Phuket Airport you'll be met and taken by private transfer to our luxury beachfront hotel in Khao Lak to enjoy an amazing chill out day after your flight, so you'll be full of energy for the exciting action-packed itinerary we have lined up for you from Day 2!
Lounge by the beautiful pool surrounded by palm trees with views of the turquoise sea, walk along the beach, prop yourself up at the swim-up bar with a tropical cocktail, enjoy a Thai massage or venture out to explore! As the sun sets we meet in the restaurant to get to know everyone better and get excited about our adventure that lies ahead!
You can make your own arrangements to arrive at Phuket Airport or join other women flying out from the UK if you like. We bring the whole group together before the tour through our private Facebook group just for each adventure, where we share tips and advice about practical things like what to pack, make plans for our pre-tour meet up in the UK, meeting at the airport and counting down to an amazing adventure together!

DAY 2 - ELEPHANTS & JUNGLE TREEHOUSES IN KHAO SOK!
Today we head north to our fantastic eco camp nestled in the heart of Khao Sok Rainforest! We spend two nights here in amazing tree houses surrounded by the jungle with balconies where you can soak it all up (and spot monkeys!), comfortable beds, open air en suite bathrooms and amazing food, cocktails and massages available to enjoy at our camp, before falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle.
After checking in to our treehouses you'll have time to explore then it's time for a truly special experience during our visit to a local elephant sanctuary! I've carefully chosen a sanctuary that takes great care of its elephants and ensures they're always happy with their interaction with us, while giving you the opportunity to feed, bathe and give some all important muscle massaging to help moisturise and cool these old elephants' tough skin from all that sun. This is a real highlight for many people and it still makes me emotional every time I go back!
Afterwards its time for food and drinks back at our camp as the jungle gets dark around us, and the sounds get a little louder!

DAY 3 - JUNGLE EXPLORING, HIKING, RAFTING & SWIMMING IN KHAO SOK!
It's time to head deep into the heart of Khao Sok today, to the breathtaking Cheow Lan Lake for a full day of exploring and incredible views! Our local guide will brief us then we'll travel to the lake and hop on our traditional Thai longtail boats to sail among the soaring limestone cliffs and karsts that make this area so stunning. One of the most beautiful places I've ever been, it still blows me away how bright turquoise and green the colour of the water is for a lake!
Our first stop is a hike through the jungle, with our guide pointing out all sorts of interesting things he finds along the way! We head to Coral Cave, hopping on a bamboo raft to get to the entrance only accessible by water, then climb into the cave, lined with ancient stalacmites and stalactites. Then it's a hike back to our boat and our next stop, lunch!
We have an amazing Thai lunch prepared by a local family living on raft houses on the lake, then spend time chilling in this beautiful spot, with time to swim and kayak, before sailing back and returning to our camp.

DAY 4 - TRAVEL TO THE ISLANDS VIA BIG BUDDHA!
It's time to say goodbye to the jungle today and travel to our first of five stunning Thai islands, the famous Koh Phi Phi!
We hop in our private air conditioned mini vans and head south to the harbour in Phuket, with a stop to see Phuket's impressive Big Buddha temple on the way, one of the most important and revered landmarks on the island. The huge image sits on top of the Nakkerd Hills and, at 45 metres tall, can be seen from miles around and offers the best 360-degree sweeping views of the island.
Thai people and tourists visit, monks carry out blessings here and monkeys play in the surrounding trees. Afterwards we stop for lunch at a local restaurant in the hillside before heading to meet our speedboat to travel to Koh Phi Phi.
We get checked into our fabulous resort then you'll have some time to chill. A visit without sampling Phi Phi's nightlife, including beach parties, fire shows and Reggae Reggae Bar's Thai boxing ring, would just be wrong, and that's our plan tonight!

DAY 5 - KOH PHI PHI BOAT TRIP, SNORKELLING, MONKEYS & VIEWPOINT!
Today you'll have time to chill on the beach or by our pool, then in the afternoon we're off to explore this incredibly beautiful island by traditional long tail boat!
Koh Phi Phi is the busiest island we visit and there's a reason the island became so popular with tourists, its soaring limestone cliffs and shallow, clear turquoise waters create some of the most stunning natural sights I've ever seen. Today our boat trip explores the sister island which is a protected national park. You'll see Maya Bay from movie, The Beach, meet monkeys and snorkel beautiful turquoise lagoons bursting with fish!
After our boat trip we hike up to the famous Phi Phi viewpoint to take in the beauty of this island with incredible views as the sun sets. Things like this are optional, so if you'd rather not exert yourself and stay chilling by the beach that's absolutely fine too!
After a busy day it's time for a chilled evening exploring Phi Phi's shops and craft stalls, and more amazing Thai food!

DAY 6 - BEACHFRONT VILLAS & CHILL TIME IN BEAUTIFUL KOH MOOK!
After an action-packed few days in Khao Sok and Phi Phi we head by speedboat to the stunning island of Koh Mook for two nights of chill out time and a little bit of luxury. This is one of the islands that no other group tour company visits, but it's one of the best!
Our resort is in a truly unique setting where everywhere you look you're surrounded by unbelievable, panoramic sea views. And it hasn't been discovered by mass tourism or major hotel chains yet so still retains the relaxed pace of Thai ownership. You'll stay in beautiful Thai villas dotted along a private beach with views of the sea just a few steps away, where you can easily find your very own stretch of beach and where you'll fall asleep to the sound of waves - paradise!
A short walk out of the resort is the rustic little centre where you can experience authentic Thai village life and extremely friendly local people. After our journey here it's time to chill before we meet in the resort restaurant at sunset. Why not enjoy a Thai massage treatment in our resort spa or the village to really get into the island vibe?!

DAY 7 - EMERALD CAVE SWIM THROUGH & TUK TUKS THROUGH JUNGLE!
Time for some more adventure today with the option* to join us for an exciting swim through a mysterious cave to a hidden beach, once used by Thai pirates to hide treasure!
We tear ourselves away from our resort and hop on private longtail boats right from our beach, to sail around the coastline of beautifully untouched Koh Mook. At the entrance to the cave, fully equipped in all the safety gear and with our experienced guide, we set off swimming through to reach the other side, where we celebrate our intrepid success!
This is optional but so many women have stepped out of their comfort zone to do this and been so proud of themselves, and we support each other every step of the way. Read my blog about the swim through here.
Tonight we get motorbike taxis through the jungle and across the island to a great little Thai restaurant tucked away in the cliffside, to capture another amazing sunset overlooking yet another beautiful beach with panoramic sea views. It's a hard life!

DAY 8 - TRAVEL TO KOH LIPE: 'THE MALDIVES OF THAILAND!'
It's time to explore this special island known as 'The Maldives of Thailand' for its three beautiful beaches and clear, turquoise waters. Koh Lipe has a little bit of everything and is both chilled and lively, from beach bar shacks and bars playing movies to live Thai bands and lively beach parties - you won't want to leave!
We stay in lovely little, rustic wooden style Thai bungalows in a resort on the beach with its own swimming pool and swim-up bar, just a few minutes walk along the beach to loads of cool little shops, bars and restaurants on Walking Street.
After our speedboat journey here and a chill at our resort we head out to one of my favourite bars in Thailand for food, drinks and live music...with a sunset cocktail on the way of course!

DAY 9 - SNORKELLING & PRIVATE BEACH BOAT TRIP & SUNSET BEACH!
Today you've got the morning free to chill out before we head off on our afternoon boat trip! We'll hop in our private Thai long tail boat and our captain will take us around the best snorkelling spots in the surrounding islands and waters that make up the protected national park.
A highlight is spending time at our very own private beach that we'll find just for us, so you can experience real island paradise for yourself away from the rest of the world!
Later we'll head off on our walking tour to the other side of the island and Koh Lipe's most secluded of its three beaches, Sunset Beach. We pass street food stalls, super rustic Thai bars, local art exhibitions, traditional bamboo tattoo artists at work and the island's humble temple and monastery hidden in the forest. Locals and tourists are encouraged to meditate, surrounded by the trees and simple Buddha shrines and offerings, just a few steps away from basic shacks where monks sleep.
At the beach you can sample great local food and drinks, including freshly caught seafood, unbelievable coconut ice cream and mojitos, perfect for that sunset!

DAY 10 - KOH LANTA, THAI COOKING & COCKTAILS!
Our time in Koh Lipe has come to an end, but we've still got two more islands to visit! We're heading to Koh Lanta, home to our fabulous traditional Thai style bungalows and Thailand's best cooking experience!
After some chill time at our resort we're off to learn how to recreate amazing Thai food back at home. I came here on my first ever visit to Thailand in 2006, and it's still going strong. They also have a good cause at the heart of the organisation that the cooking school and other local businesses were set up to support, the charity Lanta Animal Welfare.
This is a fun few hours where you'll pick up a lot about Thai food, but even if you're not into cooking you'll still have a great time thanks to the entertaining Thai chefs!
We pair up and cook a couple of dishes and get stuck into some tropical cocktail making, and of course we get to all sit down together and enjoy our creations too!

DAY 11 - ENDING THE TOUR IN STYLE IN KOH YAO YAI!
The final part of our adventure ends with two nights in stunning five star Thai luxury on the beautiful island of Koh Yao Yai. Just a short speedboat hop to Phuket means we are close to the airport here for your flight home, but can avoid the mass tourism, crowded beaches and seediness found in many parts of Phuket where there is unfortunately little left of real Thailand.
The natural, uninterrupted sea views from our resort are absolutely incredible, and combined with the beautifully authentic Thai style, intricately carved wooden design of the resort, this is the perfect place to enjoy a few final days of relaxation and luxury as we look back on our adventure.
We arrive in style by speedboat to the resort's private pier, which stretches out in front of you like some kind of red carpet that you just know means you've arrived somewhere special! But wait until you see your bedrooms and those balconies, that's when you'll really feel like a queen. If you can tear yourself away from your room our resort has all sorts to keep you entertained, relaxed and happy and the only thing on the itinerary here is free time to do whatever you please!

DAY 12 - INFINITY POOL COCKTAILS & FAREWELL DINNER!
You'll want to allow a significant amount of time to make the most of at least a few courses of the amazing breakfast buffet here, trust me! After that you'll be spoilt for choice for how to spend another whole day of free time just for you.
Relax on our private beach, in the main swimming pool (with cool little long tail boat loungers in the water!) or soak up the stunning panoramic sea views from the infinity pool. Treat yourself to a massage by the beach or take the pampering to a whole other level in the luxurious spa, or enjoy one of the several different bars and restaurants, all with those amazing views.
If you're still up for some activity then there's loads to choose from too, at times you can choose throughout the day. Have a go at kayaking or stand-up paddle boarding, Thai boxing, Thai dancing, yoga and more.
A popular last afternoon activity has become happy hour cocktails in the infinity pool as the sun sets from in this incredible spot, before we enjoy a farewell meal together to mark our last night.

DAY 13 - SOAK UP THE LAST BIT OF SUN & TRAVEL HOME!
Our adventure comes to an end today and it's time to say goodbye, but we have a few more hours to enjoy our resort and that amazing breakfast before our transfer to the airport in the afternoon. The exact timings will of course be dependent on your individual flight times and you must consult us about this before booking your flights, as particularly on this day we need to allow enough time to get you to the airport from Koh Yao Yai island.
But this isn't where your Travel Queen experience has to end. So many women create new friendships on our group tours that last beyond the end of your first adventure with us.
Many women have gone on to meet up back at home, through their own plans or through one of our reunions or events through our Travel Queens United community, for women who have been on our tours and are thinking of joining one in future. And many have booked again onto more Travel Queen adventures.
